ZaDySgRaCe: The Final days of school!

Summer break has officially started! (actually it started a week and a half ago) The last few weeks of school seemed to all blur together. There was an awards assembly were my little over achiever grabbed 7 awards. Well, in reality, everyone in the class got 6 in the 'mini' assembly that was held in the classroom before the big school wide assembly,but she also got one there too!!!! So maybe I'm a little proud, but rightfully so. Only 5 kids in each class were HAND PICKED for these awards. There was also 'super kids day', but if you ask me, it was a day for the teachers to hand over their students to eager middle school students to chaperon. All the while the teachers sit in a big circle in the middle of the track gabbing about who knows what. Talk about a fun day! Zadyn and I volunteered to help with this hot mess of a day, but golly, we had no clue what we were in store for! The gym teacher Ms. Whatshername, drill sargently like ordered us onto the track with "games" & activities for the entire lower elementary students.... My sidekick & I were in charge of bowling. Fun right? Maybe, if the wind here in southwest Oklahoma didn't blow 50mph on a daily basis. We didn't get a lunch either, but we're rebels, & snuck off to McDonald's to snatch a few happy meals. We headed back to the track, but not to hold up bowling pins with the tips of our fingers while bratty gingers ( I got nothin but love for you!) hurled 5 lb bowling balls at our digits.We snuck off to find Grace bug & watch her in all the Olympian events! I mean, we had been there all day without even a glimpse of my brown eyed beauty. We deserved to spend the day with HER! She agreed to let us tag along with her & the 'super cool kids'. But come 1 o'clock, she had enough & was ready to go. Being the oober competitive mom that I am(did you just lol? i did!), I refused to let her leave without helping her class claim the kindergarten tug of war championship! Sure she will miss her teacher, friends, & the cafeteria chicken noodle soup ( I wish that last part was a lie), but come on already! Let the staying up, late night movies, & 10 p.m. run for ice cream begin!!! I am so thankful that I have the opportunity to work part time & get to spend most of the time with my babies! If I have learned anything this year, it's once they start school time really starts to fly! We are looking forward to a long summer!
