This past weekend, we celebrated a Graclyn's 6th birthday! (I still can't believe that she has to use 2 hands to now show how old she is!) Being the water bug that she is, she opted for a pool party. I wanted to do a cute little luau theme, but being the independent little one that she is, she wanted a zebra & polka dot party...What the princess want, the princess gets. ( On her birthday at least!!!)
We had a great turn out! I laughed to myself every time I watched a kiddo get all sticky from the goodies and then jump in the pool to rinse off....Hey! Why not?! I think at one point, we counted close to 100 people!!! I didn't realize that we knew that many people here, but I guess I was wrong. Everyone had a great time! One of my friends told me that her daughter told her, "This is the 1st party that the cupcakes were actually good!!!!" The mom of Graclyn's little boy "buddy" (that's what they call each other) called a few nights before her party asking what she wanted. When I asked Grace (btw, that's what she's calling herself these days) she simply replied "ummmm! I like diamonds!" Melissa, the "Buddy's" mom, died laughing & said "Oh, girl! You are raising her right!"

We had a great day. I am so proud of my little girl. She is everything I could ever hope for in a daughter and more. She brings me constant smiles and smothers me with her love. She is beautiful, funny, & kind. She loves her little brother with all her heart. She loves her daddy and thinks that he is the strongest man alive. She lights up every time he enters a room. She says that I'm her best friend and she honestly believes that I know everything. Although this may not be true, I am for certain that her contagious smile can will brighten any day & she is my answered prayer. As she sleeps, I still see the face of my new born baby. So little, so perfect, & she's mine.
